Yet another set overview is here. The Pokémon TCG is about to be jolted with another exciting new expansion. We Love Collectibles is thrilled to bring our readers some news about the upcoming release of “Surging Sparks“, the latest addition to the Scarlet & Violet series.
Set to hit shelves on November 8, 2024, this new set promises to bring more of the Scarlet & Violet series staples such as Illustration Rares and Stellar type Pokémon.
Of course, we haven’t even see the English set Stellar Crown yet. You can take a look at the Stellar Crown set overview here. In other fantastic news, this sets release will coincide with our new store opening – on the 14th September. We hope to see you all there for the grand opening, and we’ll have more information soon. We have pre-orders up for Stellar Crown products – Booster Boxes, ETBs and Booster Packs and more! so make sure you check our store, or visit us in Margate, Thanet at our shop.
What's New in Surging Sparks?
Surging Sparks is set to introduce over 250 cards, including a range of exciting new features:
- Stellar Tera Pokémon ex: The set showcases more of these powerful creatures, including Pikachu ex and Alolan Exeggutor ex.
- Dragon-type Focus: Expect to see an influx of formidable Dragon-type Pokémon.
- ACE SPEC Cards: 8 new ACE SPEC cards will be making their debut.
- Illustration Rares: 23 new illustration rare Pokémon cards will be available.
- Special Illustration Rares: 11 special illustration rare Pokémon and Supporter cards.
- Hyper Rare Gold Etched Cards: 6 stunning gold etched cards will be up for grabs.
Spotlight on Key Pokémon for Surging Sparks
We’ve not seen any of the English prints yet for Surging Sparks – only Japanese. However we do know a few Pokémon that’ll likely appear within the set:
- Pikachu ex (Stellar Tera): The beloved Electric mouse takes center stage with its Stellar Tera form.
- Alolan Exeggutor ex: This tropical Dragon-type variant is sure to make waves.
- Latias ex: The Legendary Eon Pokémon soars into the set.
- Archaludon ex: The newly introduced Steel/Dragon-type makes its TCG debut as an ex Pokémon (Archaludon alt-art rare is featured within Stellar Miracle, and will likely be in Stellar Crown also)

Magneton Promo Card Spotlight
One of the standout items in the Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box is the Magneton Illustration Rare promo card. This stunning card features artwork by the same artist behind the highly sought-after Magikarp from Paldea Evolved and Giratina V Alternate Full Art from Lost Origin. An expensive trio to be sure – but it’s always welcome when a stunning card is am accessible promo, rather than within a set!
