A New Front in the Galactic War: A Guide to Star Wars: Unlimited - Secrets of Power
The second year of Star Wars: Unlimited has taken players from the epic space battles of Jump to Lightspeed to the Force-centric clashes of Legends of the Force. Now, the game is set to explore a different kind of conflict. The next expansion, Secrets of Power, shifts the focus from the battlefield to the back rooms, introducing a war of information, political intrigue, and espionage.
Releasing on November 7, 2025, this sixth set introduces game-changing mechanics that reward careful planning and strategic deception. This guide breaks down everything we know so far about the new leaders, the keywords, and the future of the game’s competitive scene.

A New Kind of Warfare: The Mechanics of Intrigue
Secrets of Power introduces three new gameplay elements that create a deep, strategic layer of hidden information and explosive, game-defining plays.
The Plot Keyword
The headline mechanic of the set is Plot. This keyword allows players to build a long-term strategy, culminating in a high-impact turn when their leader is deployed.
- How it works: When you deploy your leader, you can choose to play any card with the Plot keyword from your resource row by paying its printed cost. The Plot card is then replaced by the top card of your deck.
- Strategic Impact: This allows for a massive swing in tempo. A player can spend the early game placing several high-cost Plot cards as resources. Then, upon deploying their leader, they can unleash multiple powerful units, events, or upgrades in a single action, provided they have the resources to pay for them. This creates a constant threat of a surprise comeback that opponents must respect.

The Disclose Mechanic
Information becomes a resource with the new Disclose mechanic. Certain card abilities will require you to “disclose” specific aspect icons.
- How it works: To satisfy a disclose requirement, you must reveal cards from your hand that contain the necessary aspect icons. This can be a single card with multiple icons or several cards with one icon each.
- Strategic Impact: This creates a fascinating risk/reward dynamic. Do you reveal key pieces of your hand to gain an immediate advantage, giving your opponent valuable information? Cards like C-3PO, which can return to your hand after being played, become excellent tools for this, as you can repeatedly disclose them without revealing any new information.

The Spy Token
Deception takes physical form with the new Spy token units.
- How they work: These tokens are generated by other cards, like the event “I Am the Senate.” They enter play with 0 power, making them seem non-threatening.
- Strategic Impact: Their unassuming nature is a trap. Each Spy has the Raid 2 keyword, meaning they get +2 power when attacking. A board of seemingly harmless Spy tokens can quickly turn into a significant offensive threat that an unprepared opponent may ignore until it’s too late.
The Master Schemers: Spotlight on New Leaders
The set’s two Spotlight Deck leaders perfectly embody these new mechanics.

Chancellor Palpatine - "How Liberty Dies"
This leader is the ultimate late-game mastermind. His entire strategy revolves around surviving until you reach seven resources and then winning the game with an overwhelming Plot turn. His hero side ability allows you to search for Plot cards, helping you set up your win condition. When he deploys as a unit, he makes your first Plot card that phase cost 3 less, enabling even more powerful combinations. A deck built around Palpatine will focus on defensive tools and resource acceleration to ensure you can execute your game-winning plan.
Padmé Amidala - "What Do You Have to Hide?"
Padmé introduces a completely different style of play, focused on slowly chipping away at your opponent’s forces. Her ability allows her to deal 1 damage to a unit whenever you reveal or discard a card from your hand. This synergises perfectly with the Disclose mechanic and other cards that use your hand as a resource. A Padmé deck is a tactical one, requiring clever hand management to control the board and gain incremental advantages over time.
Prepare for the Intrigue: Master the Current Meta
While we wait for the political machinations of Secrets of Power this November, it’s the perfect time to build your collection and master the current card pool. The mechanics and leaders from sets like Jump to Lightspeed, Legends of the Force, and Shadows of the Galaxy will continue to be a major part of the game for a long time to come.
A New Competitive Era: Organised Play Season 1
The release of Secrets of Power also marks the official start of Organised Play Season 1. This is a massive overhaul of the competitive structure, creating a clear path for players to qualify for the 2026 Galactic Championship in Las Vegas.
- Planetary Qualifiers: There will be 170 of these store-level tournaments for each set release. The winner of each gets an automatic invitation to Day 2 of the Galactic Championship.
- Sector & Regional Qualifiers: Larger, multi-day events will offer enhanced prizes and travel support for top players.
- Invitation-Only Worlds: The 2026 Galactic Championship will be an exclusive, invitation-only event, making qualification a true achievement.
The Future of the Galaxy: 2026 Set Roadmap Revealed
Fantasy Flight Games also gave us a glimpse into the future, revealing the names of the next three sets scheduled for 2026:
- A Lawless Time
- Ashes of the Empire
- Homeworlds
This roadmap suggests a continued focus on thematic diversity, exploring the criminal underworld, the classic Imperial/Rebellion conflict, and potentially planet-focused mechanics.
