The Star of the Show: Mega Dragonite ex's TCG Debut

The main Pokémon for Mega Dream ex is Mega Dragonite ex, making its first-ever appearance in the trading card game. This powerful Stage 2 Pokémon ex evolves from Dragonair and arrives with 370 HP.

  • Ability: Sky Transport– Once during your turn, you may switch your Active Pokémon with 1 of your Benched Pokémon.
  • Attack: Ryuno Glide– For two Water and one Lightning energy, this attack does 330 damage, but you must discard 2 Energy from this Pokémon.

This card is a significant addition, representing the first of the new Mega Evolutions from Pokémon Legends: Z-A to join the TCG.

Mega Attack Rares (MA)

This set introduces a brand-new card rarity: the Mega Attack Rare (MA). These are Full Art Mega Evolution Pokémon ex cards designed with a unique pop-art aesthetic. Harking back to the XY-era, a key feature is the inclusion of the card’s attack names in large, stylised English text directly on the Japanese card art (it’s the reverse when it comes to the English cards – check out Mega Evolution here!)

The three confirmed Mega Attack Rares are:

  • Mega Charizard X ex
  • Mega Gardevoir ex
  • Mega Lucario ex

The Chase Cards (So Far) - Must-Have SARs, ARs, and New Foils

As a High Class Pack, Mega Dream ex is filled with highly desirable cards. The reveal of the Mega Gengar ex SAR is a major highlight. Its stunning new artwork by danciao is sure to make it a chase card for any collector. Gengar is always a favourite, and this new card joins some other incredible Gengar artworks we have in stock, including the popular Gengar Trainer Gallery card from Lost Origin and the unique Chinese Gem Pack Vol. 3 Gengar from the latest Chinese set.

For Japanese Product collectors, we’ve also got the Pokémon TCG Mega Gengar ex Starter Deck – Japanese in stockbut these are limited, so be quick!

Another confirmed pull is the Marnie’s Grimmsnarl ex SAR. For collectors of Art Rares (ARs), the new Dreepy and Drakloak cards continue an illustration story from a previous set.

Lastly, featured in Mega Dream ex, are the unique new mirror foil patterns: cards will feature either an Energy Symbol or a Friend Ball design, adding another layer for master set collectors.

Key Pokémon and Trainer Cards Revealed

The set also includes a number of other interesting new cards with fantastic artwork. Mega Eelektross ex offers a powerful spread attack, while its strategy is supported by the new Supporter card, Canari, which allows you to search your deck for up to four Lightning Pokémon.

The new Dragonair has a useful “Evolution Guidance” ability, and the Pokémon Tool card Thick Scale provides damage reduction for Dragon-type Pokémon. It’s always exciting to see new artwork and abilities, much like the beautiful illustration rares found in recent sets like Mega Inferno X.
