Whispers in the Well introduces some fascinating new gameplay elements that reward tactical thinking.
The Detective Type
A brand-new character classification, “Detective,” arrives with strong internal synergy. These characters are designed to work together to solve the set’s mysteries.
- Judy Hopps – Uncovering Clues has an ability that lets you look at the top three cards of your deck and add a Detective to your hand.
- Nick Wilde – Persistent Investigator is a powerful Floodborn character who lets you draw a card whenever one of your Detectives banishes another character in a challenge.
With new Detective and Whisper glimmers on the way, now is the perfect time to build your collection and prepare your decks for the mysteries ahead. We have a wide range of products from currently legal sets like Fabled and Shimmering Skies in stock, perfect for strengthening your existing decks.
The Boost Mechanic
The new “Whisper” glimmers introduce the Boost ability. This allows a player to pay ink to place the top card of their deck face-down under a character, powering up their abilities. For example, the new Simba gets to play a character for free if the boosted card is a character, while Megara gains lore and forces opponents to discard when challenged.
