What's Inside Play! Pokémon Prize Pack Series Five?
The Play! Pokémon Prize Pack Series Five is a promotional set that brings together a fair few sought-after and meta-relevant cards from recent expansions. Here’s what you can expect:
- 86 specially chosen cards from Scarlet & Violet through Temporal Forces
- SVE prints of Basic Energy cards
- Each card retains its original set number
- All cards are marked with the Play! Pokémon logo
- Booster packs contain 6 cards each
- Foil cards feature Cosmos Holofoil (except Pokémon ex and ACE SPEC cards)

How to Get Your Hands on Play! Pokémon Prize Packs
Now, you might be wondering, “How can I get these amazing packs?” The distribution process for Play! Pokémon Prize Packs is designed to encourage participation in local Pokémon events. Here’s how it works:
- Participation in Events: Players can earn Prize Packs by taking part in various Play! Pokémon events held at local game stores. These events include Pokémon Leagues, League Challenges, and League Cups.
- Event-Based Distribution: The number of Prize Packs available can vary from one location to another and from event to event. This distribution method is tied to the level of activity and participation in events at each store.
- Qualified Play! Pokémon Stores: Local game stores that are part of the Play! Pokémon program receive Prize Packs to distribute to participants in their events. These stores are typically part of an organised play network that supports Pokémon TCG activities.
It’s important to note that Prize Packs are not for sale – they’re exclusively distributed as rewards for participation in official events. This makes them even more special and sought-after by dedicated players and collectors!

Pokémon Worlds 2024 and Prize Pack Series Five
While the release of Prize Packs doesn’t always coincide with the Pokémon World Championships, this year is an exception. The Play! Pokémon Prize Pack Series Five is being released just days before Pokémon Worlds Honolulu 2024, which takes place from August 16-18. This timing means that the cards in the new Prize Pack series will be legal for use in the World Championship tournaments!
Speaking of Pokémon Worlds, we’re incredibly proud to announce that one of our local players, Harrison, is on his way to Hawaii to compete in the championships. We recently held charity streams to help raise funds for Harrison’s trip, and we’ve also gifted him some of the new Shrouded Fable cards that are relevant to the current meta for his decks. The entire We Love Collectibles community is rooting for Harrison – good luck!
