The Return of Trainer’s Pokémon: A Nostalgic Revival with a Modern Twist
We previously talked about the reveals from Pokémon Worlds a few months ago, which produced more than a few teasers regarding upcoming Pokémon TCG sets in 2025. While Battle Partners is due in Japan January 24th next year, we’ll have to wait for Journey Together until March 2025.
Trainer’s Pokémon (formerly known as Owner’s Pokémon). This nostalgic call back to the Gym Heroes and Gym Challenge sets has been reimagined for the modern era, with Pokémon ex cards now tied to iconic trainers.
We previously speculated about the return of this mechanic in our blog and now it’s official—Trainer’s Pokémon are back, and we hope it’s better than ever! During the closing ceremonies of the Pokémon World Championships, we some exciting cards revealed, offering a sneak peek into Journey Together. Cards such as Lillie’s Clefairy ex, Marnie’s Grimmsnarl ex, N’s Zoroark ex and N’s Reshiram.
